Job description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter to join a precision engineering company in Cannock. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing programmes for CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge.

The Job Role

• Set up CNC machines, including selecting appropriate tooling and materials handling procedures.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate programmes aligned with project requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment, including milling machines and other programmable logic controllers.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure efficient workflow, quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct inspections of machined parts to verify dimensions and tolerances using hand tools and measurement devices.
• Maintain detailed documentation of programmes, modifications, and machine settings for future reference.

Experience / Requirements

• Proven experience in CNC Milling
• Fanuc control knowledge is essential
• Knowledge of Leadwell machine is advantageous
• Mechanical knowledge of materials handling, tooling selection, and machining processes.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in programme development and machine setup.
• Good communication skills.

The Package

• Temporary to permanent position, could be permanent straight away.
• Working hours 7:00-15:30 Monday to Thursday, early finish on a Friday.
• Salary of £15 - £16 per hour D.O.E
