A well-established manufacturer in South Wales is seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join its machining team. This full-time, permanent position involves setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts, requiring a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Familiarity with Fanuc controls is essential, while experience with Mazatrol is a bonus. The role offers long-term stability and requires adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a CNC setting role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tool selection.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and Num controls is essential.
  • A methodical approach and good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider production team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspections.

Job description

A well-established manufacturer in South Wales is looking to add an experienced CNC Setter to its machining team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability and the chance to work on high-spec components used in demanding global industries.

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts to tight tolerances. Working from technical drawings, you will ensure each job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

Working on a rotating 3‑shift pattern (mornings, afternoons, and nights), Monday‑Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and run CNC lathes and/or milling machines
  • Interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job
  • Carry out first‑off and in‑process inspections
  • Adjust machine settings to optimise performance and output
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety procedures
