A CNC Setter is required, for a well established precision manufacturing business based in Dudley.

The company are long established within the black country for over 40 years, specializing the manufacture of precision components for a range of industry sectors. They pride themselves on manufacturing high-quality components using the latest technology and a machine shop boasting a range of CNC machinery and CAM software. They’ve got a very low turnover of staff, coupled with long-standing relationships with blue-chip companies globally.

Benefits

Benefits include an hourly rate of £15.00 p / h, paid overtime. Its 38 hrs per week 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday, Fridays flexi paid at OT time and a half.

Responsibilities of the CNC Setter
  • Programming of vertical turning lathes to machine precision, low volume components
  • Writing new programmes as well as editing / modifying existing programmes as necessary
  • Full machine setup and prove out including tooling, speeds, feeds and materials
  • Manage updates and new components introduced
  • First off part inspection using measuring equipment, before issuing to QC for final pass off
  • Multiple setups during the day based on low volume of part manufacture
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to programmes to reduce scrap, waste, cycle time and tool life
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to write brand new programme using FANUC, or offline CAM software
  • Strong knowledge of CNC turning, either horizontal or vertical
  • Confident with high-frequency setups for 1 off and small batch manufacture
  • Understand and interpret 2D & 3D drawings
  • Flexibility towards overtime when required
