A leading manufacturing company near Weston-on-Trent is searching for an experienced CNC Machinist. In this role, you'll be responsible for programming and operating CNC machinery, interpreting CAD models, and ensuring quality checks. The ideal candidate should possess a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent education and have strong problem-solving skills. This position offers £13.96 per hour for a 38-hour workweek, with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Experience using machine controls and CAM software necessary.
• Knowledge of machining different materials like aluminium and plastics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues effectively.

CNC Machinist –

CNC Machinist Salary: £13.96 per hour
Shift Pattern: 38 hours per week, flexitime (Mon–Thurs: 7am–8:30am start, Fri: finish by 1pm if starting at 7am)

Orion are currently working with an innovative manufacturing company based near Weston-on-Trent, who are looking for an experienced CNC Router Programmer & Operator to join their team. If you have strong experience in CNC programming and operating router machines, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Programme, operate Router CNC machinery
• Create CNC programs and set up CNC router machines.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
• Select tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths.
• Simulate programs to identify and resolve issues before production.
• Perform first-part inspections and in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean, organised work area.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and meet production schedules.

Required Experience

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Experience using machine controls and CAM software.
• Knowledge of machining different materials (aluminium, stainless steel, plastics).
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
• Time-served Apprenticeship in Engineering or HNC/HND equivalent.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a strong eye for detail.
