Overview

CNC Programmer/Setter - Milling & Turning — Permanent — Swindon — Salary is dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for a fully skilled CNC Programmer/Setter to join our client based in Swindon.

The Person

Will be flexible and courteous with a friendly and positive approach. Will be able to produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency and accurately plan the production method & create programmes when advised by Supervisor to customer specifications using available facilities, whilst maintaining discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

You Will Have
  • Experience of CAD / CAM programming
  • The ability to use a wide variety of measuring equipment
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • The confidence & ability to work under your own initiative
  • FANUC and G&M Code experience
  • The experience of working to fine tolerances with all materials
Your Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the machine processes are running at optimum efficiency with correct speeds and feeds
  • Competently setting and operating CNC milling machines using operating systems for each machine
  • Undertaking any off set or minor changes to programmes to produce quality components to drawing limits/customer specifications
  • Planning and specifying tooling requirements for production, including any jigs & fixtures or special cutting tools
  • Inspecting, including first-off inspections of others work using CMM equipment
  • Working to tight tolerances and checking your own work during production batch runs
  • Supporting and advising other employees when required in ensuring all operations are carried out efficiently and accurately to customer requirements, drawing tolerance and specifications
