Job summary

Advanced Insulation Systems Ltd in Skelmersdale is seeking a CNC Programmer/Operator to program, set and run a Doosan lathe and CMS milling machine for subsea components. You will interpret complex drawings, select tools, and perform first-off and in-process checks, while coordinating with engineers to ensure accurate, efficient production.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of precision engineering experience, strong tooling knowledge and excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Fanuc and PowerMill controls.
• Able to read complex engineering drawings and translate them into machining procedures.
• Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inspection.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Doosan CNC lathe and CMS milling machine.
• Inspect own work using calipers, micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Collaborate with Production Manager to prioritise work and meet targets.
• Liaise with Engineers and Drawing Office to confirm methods and tolerances.
• Design and fixturing to support efficient, repeatable machining processes.
• Handle tool selection and changes with suppliers to ensure availability.
• Perform first-off, in-process and final checks and escalate non-conformances.
• Maintain safe, clean and organised work area and participate in SQPD meetings.

**CNC Programmer****Skelmersdale****Up to £40,000.00 per annum DOE****The role:**CRP Subsea is looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator to be responsible for programming, setting and operating a CNC Doosan lathe and CMS milling machine, machining a variety of products for subsea applications from materials including PU, Nylon and Syntactic.**What will you do as our CNC Programmer/Operator:*** Program machines using Fanuc and Power mill control systems.* Set, operate, and adjust CNC machines to produce components in line with engineering drawings and production requirements.* Inspect own working using various measuring equipment.* Work closely with the Production Manager to prioritise jobs, meet daily production targets, and support the smooth running of the department.* Liaise directly with Engineers and the Drawing Office to clarify machining methods, tolerances, and design intent.* Design, set up, and manufacture fixtures and work-holding solutions to support efficient and repeatable machining processes.* Select, prepare and change cutting tools, working with tooling suppliers to ensure tooling availability and optimal tool performance.* Carry out first-off, in-process, and final checks using appropriate measuring equipment, acting as the first point of contact for quality issues.* Escalate non-conformances to Quality Inspectors and support corrective actions as required.* Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of machines, ensuring work schedules are achieved and downtime is minimised.* Attend daily SQPD meetings and contribute to discussions on safety, quality, delivery and continuous improvement.* Follow all site Health & Safety procedures, maintain a clean, safe and organised work area, and actively promote safe working practices and improvement ideas.**What are we looking for in our CNC Programmer/Operator:*** Proficient with Fanuc and Power mill.* Ability to work from complex engineering drawings.* Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining best practices.* Strong communication skills* High attention to detail.* Knowledge on programming, setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines.* Minimum of 3 years programming experience within a precision engineering environment.**What are the benefits of being our CNC Programmer/Operator:*** Up to £38,000.00 per annum DOE* Discretionary annual bonus of up to 15% of basic salary* Life assurance of 4 x annual salary* Comprehensive employee assistance programme including 24/7 GP, unlimited mental health support and legal consultations* Group personal pension scheme### About UsAn ambitious business committed to embracing innovation and solving our customers’ toughest challenges.
