Job summary

Econ Engineering Limited, the UK’s leading supplier of winter and highways maintenance vehicles, is seeking an experienced Offline CNC Programmer to join our production team in Ripon.

You will develop CNC programs for Bystronic laser and press brake machines using BysoftCam software and create lathe programs as needed, with strong emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery. A pro-active, detail‑driven mindset and good Excel/Word skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Develop CNC programs for Bystronic laser and press brake machines using BysoftCam software.
• Create CNC programs for CNC lathes using Autodesk Fusion software.
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Strong accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
• Ability to liaise with management and shop floor staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for Bystronic laser and press brake machines to meet works orders.
• Create CNC programs for CNC lathes as required.
• Review and process weekly MRP reports to generate works order prints and drawings.
• Process technical modifications from the technical department.
• Input and process weekly shop floor time sheets for accounts.
• Coordinate steel requirements for nested programs and ordering.

Skills

• NC Programming: Develop CNC programs for Bystronic laser and press brake machines using BysoftCam software to meet works order requirements.
• Lathe Programming: Create CNC programs for CNC lathes utilizing Autodesk Fusion software.
• MRP Management: Review and process weekly MRP (Material Requirements Planning) reports to generate works order prints and drawings for shop floor distribution.
• Technical Modifications: Implement and process technical modifications from the technical department to support product improvements.
• Time Sheet Management: Input and process weekly shop floor time sheets for our accounts department.
• Materials Management: Co-ordinate and issue steel requirements for all nested programs to the production team for ordering.
• Collaboration: Ability to liaise effectively with the Factory Manager, shop floor supervisors, and laser, press, and machine shop operatives.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy with a solid understanding of Word and Excel. Familiarity with CNC machines is highly desirable.
• Technical Understanding: Ideally, you will be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
