Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks an experienced CNC Programmer for our Peterborough facility. You will develop and optimize Mastercam programs for Mazak tools, support milling, turning and multi-axis machining, and help improve cycle times and setup efficiency.

This onsite role reports to Manufacturing Manager in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. You will create programs, verify them, and assist with first-piece validation while resolving tooling and machining issues, ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool and Die, or equivalent field.
• Advanced proficiency using Mastercam for milling, turning and multi-axis machining.
• Experience programming Mazak equipment using Mazatrol and G-code.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and 3D models.

• Review engineering drawings, specifications and 3D models to select machining methods, cutting tools, fixtures and work-holding solutions.
• Improve machining practices to reduce setup time, scrap and cycle time while meeting safety, GD&T, quality and customer requirements.

About the role:

As a CNC Programmer, you will develop, optimize and maintain CNC machining programs for Mazak machine tools using Mastercam software. Your work will support milling, turning and multi-axis machining while improving cycle times, setup efficiency and product quality. You will also provide hands‑on support during machine setup, program prove‑out and first‑piece validation while resolving programming, tooling and machining issues.

You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and assigned to our Peterborough, Ontario, Canada facility. This is an onsite position.

Key Responsibilities:

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $67,500 to $84,250 per year.
