gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a CNC Programmer to work at their facility based near Blackburn

Performance Objectives

Programming & Machining :

• Create and optimize CNC programs using Edgecam and / or Alphacam for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centres, including mill-turn machines.
• Develop efficient machining strategies for aluminium components, focusing on cycle time reduction and surface finish quality.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Simulate VERICUT and verify tool paths to ensure accuracy, prevent collisions, and optimize performance.
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and fixtures for aluminium and other aerospace materials such as titanium and Inconel.
• Program both milling and turning operations in a single setup using mill-turn technology.

Process Development & Improvement :

• Collaborate with design engineers and machinists to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs.
• Recommend process improvements, tooling upgrades, and machining techniques to enhance productivity and quality.
