Job Title: Press Setter/Operator

Rate of pay: circa £29,000 p.a (£14‑£15 per hour)

EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer located in Redditch. The market leader is a well‑established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety‑critical, highly complex components.

  • Hours: 39 hours per week – Day Shift; 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and Friday 07:30 to 12:30 with designated breaks

Your responsibilities will include

As a Press Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for the completion of press operations in an efficient manner that is in accordance with the Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.

You will:
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Demonstrate manual handling of heavy and expensive tooling using hydraulic equipment.
  • Demonstrate material handling – loading and unloading of metal coils.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate
  • 2+ years of working experience in a precision engineering environment.
  • The ability to set and operate presses in a precision engineering environment.
  • Confidence in forming sheet metal components with the use of CNC or Manual Press Brake (both would be advantageous).
  • Understanding of and safe use of air tools and hand tools.
  • Prior experience setting up press brakes with the correct tooling and settings required.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Prior experience working with thin‑gauge sheet metal in a press environment.
