Overview

CNC Operator (Turning/Milling) / 4-day working week

Location: Leicester

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Shifts: Days, 07:00 - 16:45, Monday to Thursday (four-day week)

Pay: From £13.50 per hour + overtime

Start: Immediate starts available

The Company

A well-established precision engineering business supplying quality components to a range of sectors. Due to strong order books, we\'re growing our dayshift team.

The Role

You\'ll operate CNC turning machines (and support milling as needed) to produce precision components to tight tolerances.

Key duties:

  • Operate CNC turning centres to agreed production schedules and customer drawings.
  • Select the correct tooling, work-holding and programmes from job setting sheets.
  • Produce quality components to spec and within tolerance.
  • Inspect parts using gauges/hand-held measuring equipment and record results.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Work safely and follow all HSE procedures.
What You\'ll Need (Must-Haves)
  • Proven experience operating CNC turning machines (milling experience also considered).
  • Working knowledge of FANUC (or similar CNC controls).
  • Able to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Nice to have: basic editing/offsets, tooling knowledge, experience with similar materials/batch work.
