CNC Operator

South Wales - Cardiff

£29,182.40 per annum

A well‑established and successful manufacturer, this company is recognised as the market‑leading brand within the industry and has a reputation for quality and innovation that is supported by its fantastic technical team.

This role will be on a 4‑day working week from 4 pm to 2 am Monday to Thursday, and will also be weekly pay.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine machine settings.
  • Adjust machine parameters to achieve precision cutting and shaping according to specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues with the machine and escalates complex problems to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following health and safety regulations and structured technical reports on findings from sites.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • A recognised time‑served apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, along with either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine setup (experience with Salvagnini machines is an advantage).
