Overview

Machinist / CNC Machinist – Based in Sheffield – Full-time | Permanent | Excellent career prospects

The Role

You'll be responsible for machining and setting large, high-quality castings to engineering drawings and specified tolerances. Experience with Vertical Borers or large component machining would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right person.

Key responsibilities
  • Setting and operating manual and/or CNC machines
  • Machining centrifugally cast components to specification and tolerance
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Carrying out dimensional inspection of finished parts
  • Maintaining safe working practices and contributing to team performance
About You
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
  • Experience with manual or CNC lathes, mills, or borers
  • Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
