The position of CNC Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the on‑time delivery of all new products through active management of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
We are looking for fully apprentice‑trained CNC setters and programmers who are hands‑on, confident, knowledgeable and ready to take their next step in their career.
As a Project Coordinator, you will be problem‑solving, planning and organising – requiring a strong ability to work to deadlines and targets.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and track new product introduction projects, accurately predicting timelines, budgets and managing project risks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement a robust capacity‑planning method for the NPI process, enhancing lead‑time accuracy and identifying potential bottlenecks.
- Proactively resolve project delays by working with multiple departments to ensure minimal impact to the project timeline.
- Continually explore opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the process.
- Establish a culture of transparency and continuous improvement within the NPI process.
- Work with the business to plan future requirements based on forecasted demand and analysis.
Experience and Qualifications
Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and business processes would be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of project‑management techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with continuous‑improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing best practice would be advantageous.
- Experience in a new product introduction process would be useful.
Skills
- Ability to lead a project from initiation through to delivery by engaging with cross‑functional teams.
- Good communicator with written and verbal skills; confident and capable of leading and presenting in project meetings.
- Ability to develop strong, effective relationships with people.
- Ability to use CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
- Skilled in using project‑management tools, including Gantt charts to track and report progress.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Education
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship – ideally at an advanced level.
