Job summary

Waters Longbridge are hiring skilled CNC machinists ( Milling ) to join our team in Longbridge, in our brand new state of the art facility in Birmingham. The successful candidate will set-up and operate multiple CNC machines and processes in our UK machining centre of excellence.

Qualifications

• Ideally apprentice trained or equivalent proven experience in milling and turning.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
• Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
• Proficiency in using inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
• Experience on different mill/turn CNC machines (GF, Mazak, Robodrill).

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and inspect components to drawing specification.
• Set up and operate milling, turning and inspection equipment per SOPs.
• Monitor tool life and aid in process control using pre-control & statistical process control techniques.
• Adopt lean manufacturing and continuous improvement opportunities to optimise productivity.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to 5S to support a methodical work area.
