A leading engineering contractor in the UK is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate machines for machining cast iron components. The position offers a 10-month fixed-term contract, a pro-rated salary of up to £34,000, and a stable 4-on / 4-off working pattern. Ideal candidates will have proven CNC machine operation experience, particularly with Fanuc controls, and a keen eye for detail. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines (3 or 4 axis).
• Competent with tool presetting, basic offsets, and in-process adjustments.
• High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines in a precision workshop environment.
• Load, run, monitor, and inspect small batch runs of cast iron components.
• Conduct in-process and final inspection using precision measurement tools.
