Responsibilities

• Programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes, vertical milling, and boring machines.
• Determine the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs.
• Edit Fanuc‑type CNC programs.
• Modify machine speed, tooling, and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts.
• Review and interpret cutting plans, send and receive programmes using the DNC link.

Are you an experienced CNC Miller, Turner, or Borer with Fanuc experience, looking to work for a historic and successful engineering company supplying to the power generation and marine sectors?

Do you have experience with programming Fanuc and working on vertical turning machines utilising manually adjusted 4‑jaw chucks, and want to work on large and interesting short‑run component manufacture?

On offer is a role with a company established over 100 years, who specialise in manufacturing large bearing components for the Power Generation and Marine industries, and offers outstanding overtime rates and interesting work.

The company offers excellent machinery and in‑house facilities, and you will be working with highly skilled and experienced colleagues.

The role:

• Programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes, vertical milling, and boring machines.
• Determine the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs.
• Edit Fanuc‑type CNC programs.
• Modify machine speed, tooling, and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts.
• Review and interpret cutting plans, send and receive programmes using the DNC link.
• Work schedule: Mon to Thurs 07:45 to 17:00, Fri 07:45 to 10:45.

The person:

• Experience with lathes, vertical milling, and boring machines.
• Experience using Fanuc control systems.
