Job summary

A precision manufacturing company in Abbots Langley is seeking a CNC Milling - Setter Operator to ensure machines operate efficiently and produce components to high specifications. Ideal candidates will have experience in Subcon machining, a positive attitude, and an understanding of engineering drawings. The role offers a salary of £32K - £36K with unlimited overtime at 1.5x rates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years working in Subcon machining.
  • Experience with 3 Axis CNC Mills or willing to learn.
  • Open-minded and eager to train on-the-job.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machines have minimal downtime and produce high precision components.

Summary

A Precision CNC Manufacturing Company Based in Hertfordshire, covering a broad range of sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, and Robotics. We operate a high-quality engineering facility that offers a clinical and precise working environment, utilising state of the art machine tools and supporting equipment.

The Role & Responsibilities

The day-to-day role will be ensuring machines have minimal downtime and are working efficiently to produce high precision components to drawing specifications.

  • Defining machine datums
  • Prove out new jobs
  • Editing machine offsets
  • Carrying out first off inspection checks
  • Maintaining machining tolerances
  • Collaborating with inspectors to ensure drawings tolerances are met
  • Material control and identification
  • Planning with Team Leaders to work efficiently
Key Skills

Key skills for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Good time keeping
  • Background in Subcon manufacturing
  • Good understanding of setting and operating CNC Mills, 3 Axis and above
  • Positive mind set, keen to learn and improve
  • Understanding engineering drawings
  • Carrying out first off inspection checks
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings
Additional Information
  • We have 2 roles to fill
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years working in Subcon machining
  • 3 Axis experience is enough; we will train if required and find the right fit
  • Apprentice or Trainee trained, we want a good base understanding of what's required and how to do it, and want to train them in how we work so they need to be open minded
  • Not a programmer; not looking for a programmer
  • Salary £32K - £36K + Unlimited OT at 1.5
