CNC Miller Programmer

A well-established precision engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join its machining team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role would suit a capable programmer with strong hands‑on experience working with Hurco and Fanuc controlled milling machines, who is confident taking ownership of programs from concept through to production.

The Role
  • Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, with a focus on Hurco and Fanuc controls
  • Producing and optimising programs, including off‑line programming, to improve efficiency and reduce machine downtime
  • Supporting day‑to‑day production by troubleshooting machining issues and maintaining workflow
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to meet delivery schedules
  • Carrying out basic machine checks and inspections to ensure consistent performance
  • Ensuring all work meets required quality standards and complies with health and safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer, ideally 5 years+
  • Strong working knowledge of Hurco and Fanuc control systems
  • Confident with CNC programming and optimising machining cycles
  • Good mechanical understanding and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with quality control procedures and safe working practices
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and communicating with colleagues across departments
Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification or relevant technical certification preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software is advantageous
