Job description

Job Title: CNC Miller Setter operator – Mazatrol or Fanuc
Location: Warrington
Hours: 40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 13:00

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to join our team in Warrington. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining components to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in line with company procedures.

The workshop consists of 1 Mazak milling machine (Mazatrol controlled) and 2 Romi milling machines (Fanuc controlled). We manufacture components from a wide range of materials including Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, and plastics such as PTFE and PEEK.

Mazatrol experience is essential for this role, as the primary focus will be operating the Mazak machine. Candidates with Fanuc control experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines (Mazak/Mazatrol and Romi/Fanuc).
  • Manufacture components from engineering drawings in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Carry out self‑inspection to ensure all work meets dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance checks on machinery.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation at all times.
Competencies Required
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to edit and prove out CNC programs.
  • Competent in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
  • Strong understanding of geometric tolerances.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Effective team player with a positive, proactive approach.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
Performance Expectations
  • Consistently produce components to the required standard within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and contribute to 5S initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and reliability.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' CNC machining experience.
  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Oil and gas industry experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
  • Mazatrol experience is required.
