CNC & Manual Turner

Location: North Somerset
Salary: £18 - £20 per hour (DOE)

A CNC & Manual Turner is required to join a leading engineering company specialising in the manufacture, design, and development of precision‑engineered components and tooling across a wide range of industries.

As a Manual & CNC Turner, you will be responsible for producing high‑precision components using both manual lathes and CNC turning centres.

CNC & Manual Turner Job Overview

• Set up, operate, and programme (where required) CNC turning machines.
• Operate manual lathes for bespoke or low‑volume components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, models, and specifications.
• Manufacture high‑precision parts for industries including aerospace, food processing, tooling, and general engineering.
• Inspect components using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Work on components such as turbine blades, aero engine parts, test pieces, tooling modifications, and specialist assemblies.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and inspection teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Support maintenance and reconditioning tasks when required.

CNC & Manual Turner Job Requirements

• Experience as a Manual Turner and CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to programme or edit CNC controls (XYZ and Fanuc controlled machines).
• Strong understanding of machining principles, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Experience working with a wide range of materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Experience in aerospace, tooling, or specialist manufacturing is highly advantageous.

CNC & Manual Turner Salary & Benefits

• Permanent position.
• Salary - £18 to £20 per hour (DOE).
• Monday to Friday – 39 hour week.
• Competitive holiday allowance.
