Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd is recruiting a CNC Maintenance Engineer to join a site-based team in Newcastle on a day shift. The role involves maintaining and repairing a range of CNC machines, conducting preventative maintenance, and supporting operators to maximise machine availability.

Key duties include diagnosing breakdowns, maintaining records, and ensuring health and safety compliance across the site. You will collaborate with suppliers and contractors to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Time served engineer with on-site maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling and turning machinery.
• Mazak knowledge and previous experience.
• Proven experience delivering both reactive and planned maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing CNC machine breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance activities to maximise machine performance and reliability.
• Maintaining and servicing CNC machining centres including Mazak, Haas, Doosan, Asquith Butler and horizontal borers.
• Dismantling equipment, replacing defective components and reassembling machinery to operational standards.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, inspections and repair documentation.
• Working safely and ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and LOTO procedures.
• Collaborating with suppliers, contractors and external service providers.
• Conducting machinery condition assessments and equipment health checks.
• Supporting machine operators with basic maintenance guidance and safe operating practices.
