Job summary

STATS in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, is looking for a qualified Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, read engineering drawings, and maintain quality control. You will work with supervision from the Manufacturing Supervisor and collaboratively with the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include using appropriate tools, following safety and environmental policies, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring traceability of materials.

Qualifications

  • Competent in the set up and operation of CNC machine tools.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Experience with inspection equipment and quality checks.
  • Skilled in planning machine methods and selecting tooling.
  • Experience with offline programming and Autodesk Fusion or equivalent.
  • Time served machinist with proven practice on CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools to drawings and instructions.
  • Ensure drawings, procedures and instructions are current before work.
  • Handle materials safely and maintain housekeeping at all times.
  • Operate safely per manufacturers instructions and QHSE policies.
  • Inspect finished components before release to next stage.
  • Keep work area clean and wear safety equipment.
  • Assist training of apprentices within the team.
  • Report environmental and safety issues as they occur.
  • Maintain material certification and traceability.
  • Mentor developing machinists within the team.
