This position starts on a day shift for training and transitions to permanent night shifts after six months.

CNC Machinist - NIGHTS

For the first 6 months the role will be on a DAYS ONLY basis -Mon to Thursday and after the 6 months of training will be 4 on 4 of permanent nights on the following shift pattern of Monday to Thursday 8.30pm to 7.00am (40 hours per week

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. Through operating a variety of CNC machines, help to enhance the productivity of our organisation. The goal is to produce high quality parts and keep spindle time to a maximum.

The responsibilities of the role:
  • Setting/Operating High Speed CNC machines to perform tasks such as milling, drilling, tapping, grinding etc
  • General operation & supervision of other machine shop machinery.
  • Ensure all tooling, fixtures & CNC programs are available prior to commencing production
  • Keeping accurate records of component quantities and scrap produced on the production documentation
  • Maintain high standards in production output and component quality
  • Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings etc.
  • Basic Editing of Programs & tool tables
  • Take ownership of the component quality & records
  • To control, check & replace tooling & cutters
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Checking/refilling lubricant levels
  • Knowledge and understanding of CNC 3 axis, 4 axis machining and Renishaw probing is required
  • Follow company safety systems and work protocol
What You Will Need

The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC machinery and a strong mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines and being organised and motivated are all necessary personal skills for this role.
