CNC Machinist – Night Shift

Salary: Up to £43,000 (includes night shift allowance)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – 22:00 to 06:00, Sunday to Friday
Location: Bristol, BS34 5TB
Duration: Permanent

Overview

Friendly, successful, and expanding aerospace engineering company in Bristol is recruiting a CNC Machinist or CNC Miller for the night shift. You will report to the shift supervisor and work on 3‑axis CNC milling machines such as Mazak and Haas.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate 3‑axis CNC milling machines.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Run Mazak with Mazatrol controls or similar machines, including Haas.
  • Select appropriate tooling for each job.
  • Work with the quality team to ensure part conformity and traceability.
  • Communicate equipment needs with Engineering & Quality managers.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating CNC machinery.
  • Experience with CNC milling machines preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with 3‑axis milling machining centres (preferred).
  • Basic CNC program editing skills.
  • Fanuc experience preferred (not essential).
  • Proficiency with measuring tools – vernier calipers, dial indicators.
  • Good record keeping and effective communication with colleagues.
