Job summary

Westcombe Engineering is seeking a dedicated Skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision engineering team. You will set up, run and monitor CNC machinery for batch production of high-quality components, contributing to our reputation for practical, cost-effective solutions and exceptional service.

In this role you will read and write CNC programs, prepare tooling, monitor performance, and work with quality checks to uphold tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a machinist (CNC or manual).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and support others.
• A team player who takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CNC machines (Milling and Turning) for production runs - selecting tooling, setting feeds and speeds, and ensuring safe operation.
• Read, edit and write CNC programs, making adjustments as required to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor machine performance, inspect parts during production, and work with quality checks to maintain tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining problems, re-set or re-run as needed, minimising downtime.
• Collaborate with production planners, engineers, and quality teams to meet deadlines and maintain workflow.
• Uphold safety standards, maintain clean and orderly workstations, support continuous improvement.
