Job description
The Company

Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer experiencing significant growth and is now seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their expanding team. This is a low-volume, high-variety environment, offering exposure to interesting, complex components rather than repetitive batch work.

The Role

As a key member of the machine shop, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting, operating and programming CNC machines (lathes and/or machining centres)
  • Working with Fanuc controls (essential requirement)
  • Producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances
  • Selecting tooling, carrying out in-process quality checks and maintaining documentation
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and departmental performance targets
Hours

Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00 | Friday 07:00-12:00

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you must have:

  • Strong CNC setting, operating and programming experience
  • Proficiency with Fanuc controls (G & M codes)
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers)
  • Experience in both milling and/or turning
  • A proactive, quality-focused approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (6S, SMED etc.)
  • Use of conventional machine tools
