BorgWarner Ltd in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is looking for a skilled Machinist to set and operate production equipment within the designated cell, under the guidance of shift leaders. The role involves strict adherence to quality standards and TPM/5S guidelines, and working a 3 shift rotating pattern (Days, Middles, Nights).

You will have an Engineering Apprenticeship to national standard or equivalent and at least two years of machining experience; CNC machining is preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering Apprenticeship to national standard or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years machining experience in the relevant working unit or similar environments.
• CNC machining experience preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate good organisational and setting skills.
• Ability to tutor colleagues and apprentices who pass through the cell/unit.

Responsabilités

• Set production equipment accurately for yourself and others.
• Operate machine tools as part of the cell team to meet delivery requirements.
• Report tooling problems to shift leaders or relevant parties in a timely manner.
• Maintain optimum efficiencies and adhere to quality standards.
• Follow 5S and TPM guidelines for cleanliness and functionality of the cell.
• Support Quality Engineers to reduce scrap and rework.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance to improve cell functions.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers to maximise overall operational performance.
• Assist with the development of Apprentices in the training program.
