Job description

CDM Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer based at the TeesAMP Advanced Manufacturing Park in Middlesbrough, who are looking to recruit multiple CNC Machinists to join their expanding team.

Reporting to the Team Leaders, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components used across a range of industries including Aerospace, Defence, Energy, and Chemical.

Responsibilities
  • Setting and operating CNC machines to required quality standards in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Programming CNC machines to prepare jaws, parallels, jigs, or fixtures for each batch run.
  • Depending on skill level, programming small batch runs.
  • Proving out first-off production and running batches to established SOPs and routing instructions.
  • Working with a range of materials including alloy steels, nickel-based and super alloys, stainless steels, and duplex alloys.
  • Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and working with both imperial and metric measurements.
  • Using a variety of precision measuring equipment and inspection procedures to ensure in-process and first-off quality control.
  • Collaborating with production control, engineering, inspection, and maintenance teams.
  • Operating computer systems for loading programs and recording work activities.
  • Supporting training initiatives and promoting a positive, safety-focused workplace.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and compliance with Health & Safety and environmental procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Proven experience in CNC Turning and/or Milling.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, drawings, and inspection methods.
  • A proactive and motivated approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Willingness to work shift patterns and overtime as required.
