Job description

CNC Machinist - Double Days

A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Engineering department with the appointment of a CNC Machinist.

Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for:

• Online programming and operating of CNC machinery
• Selection of tooling and set up of cutter and holders
• Selection and set up of work‑piece holding devices – fixtures, vices and clamping systems
• Interpret engineering drawings to determine machining requirements
• Monitoring of machine performance, making adjustments to program data (speeds, feeds, etc)
• In-process and post-process inspection using both visual and precision measuring tool methods
• Operation of Heidenhain and Fanuc CNC control systems
• Create components within specification to engineering drawings
• Work with the programming team to feedback information for machining programme efficiency improvements
• Support in all aspects of fixture assembly cell manufacturing

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a minimum of an apprenticeship and three‑axis CNC experience.
