CNC Machinist, £42,347 + 25% Shift Allowance, Rutherglen, Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Set up, program, and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and general machine care
  • Inspect finished components to ensure they meet required specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machining issues to minimise downtime
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes
  • Maintain high standards of organisation and safety, following 5S and lean principles
Requirements
  • Time-served engineer or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience in CNC machining, specifically 5-axis milling
  • Strong programming and machine operation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S (desirable)
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience producing high-precision components
  • Confident in using hand tools with strong manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance and care
  • Experience in setting, operating, and editing programs on relevant CNC machinery is highly desirable
Shift Pattern
  • Early: Mon-Thu 6:00am-2:00pm, Fri 6:00am-1:30pm
  • Back: Mon-Thu 2:00pm-10:00pm, Fri 2:00pm-9:30pm
  • Night: Mon-Thu 10:00pm-6:00am, Fri 10:00pm-5:30am
  • Night shift start option: Sunday night or Monday night
