Job summary

Score Group is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate and edit programs on CNC Machining Centres and Lathes within the Gas Turbines division. The role may involve basic manual machining tasks and ensuring QA documentation is completed accurately.

We require experience in a machine shop, a Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent, and the ability to read drawings and work as part of a team. Various fixed and rotating shifts are available to suit operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering environment.
• Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Able to read engineering drawings and use measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Machining components on CNC machinery and carrying out manual tasks where required.
• Select and modify CNC programs from a database; write programs when needed.
• Ensure QA cards and paperwork are completed accurately.
• Report equipment or tooling issues to the supervisor; assist with training on manual machines if required.

About The Role

Based within the Gas Turbines divison the CNC Operator will operate and edit programs on the CNC Machining Centres and Lathes. On occasion may be required to carry out basic manual machining tasks.

Various shift patterns available to suit operational requirements, including both fixed and rotating shifts. Both fixed day and night shift and bi weekly rotating shift.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for machining of components on a range of CNC Machinery.
• Will select and modify programs from a database and will also write programs when required.
• Ensure QA Cards & associated paperwork is completed correctly.
• Report any plant or equipment damage to Supervisor.
• Advise Supervisor of any damaged tooling or tooling required.
• Be willing to undertake extra training on manual machines.
• Ensuring that correct programs and tooling are selected.
• Reporting any drawing discrepancies to Supervisor.
• Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Engineering environment
• Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience in a Machine Shop Environment
• Previous experience operating CNC Machines
