Overview

CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator — Blackburn

Due to continued growth and investment in new technology, we're looking to expand our skilled team with an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience on lathes who’s ready to take their career to the next level in a modern, forward-thinking engineering environment.

Responsibilities

You'll play a key role in manufacturing high-quality precision components. You'll be working in a clean, well-equipped workshop with modern CNC machines and a collaborative, supportive team. Responsibilities (training provided where needed):

  • Setting and operating CNC lathes using proven and new programs/tooling
  • Programming new parts using CAM software and manual G-code editing (Fanuc-based controls)
  • Improving efficiency and cycle times by reviewing and updating existing programs
  • Evaluating and trialling new tooling to enhance performance and consistency
  • Running multiple machines and working with a range of materials
  • Performing in-process inspection using hand-held measuring tools and CMM
  • Daily maintenance of machines and coolant to meet H&S and compliance standards
  • Supporting the training and mentoring of apprentices and new team members
  • Keeping the work area clean, safe, and well-organised
