Overview

Job Title: CNC Machinist (NPI)

Location: Wolverhampton

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £40,539 (Days) + 16.5% shift uplift for AM/PM shift

The Role - CNC Machinist

Join our leading aerospace client's team in Wolverhampton and contribute to cutting-edge NPI projects. As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a key role in machining complex components for advanced aircraft systems, working in a collaborative and innovative environment. This is a day shift role, moving to a Double-Day shift in the summer of 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and manage a variety of CNC machines including mill/turn or multi-axis
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support NPI programs
  • Conduct first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks
  • Machine components to extremely tight tolerances
  • Select and optimize tooling and machining parameters
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, adjusting programs or set-ups to maintain production quality and flow
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Background
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • CNC machining experience on various machines including Okuma, Mazak, DMG, Matsura or Puma
  • In-depth knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and inspection methods
