A precision engineering firm in Birmingham is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate milling and turning machines. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with multi-axis machines and necessary control preferences. Qualifications

The Opportunity

EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for CNC Machinists - Both Millers & Turners required to join a precision engineering company located in Birmingham on a permanent basis. Our client is a well-established advanced manufacturing business that specialises in machining small, sub assembly components for high profile, leading organisations within the aerospace industry.

Due to the nature of the markets our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents, and DBS checks will be required. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Your responsibilities include
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines
  • Work to tight tolerances using engineering drawings and specifications
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform machine maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimise workflow and efficiency
Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate
  • Minimum of 3 years experience programming, setting and operating multi axis machines using online controls
  • If Milling biased - must have Heidenhain controls experience
  • If Turning biased - must have Fanuc controls experience
  • Worked with multi-axis machines
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings
  • Previous experience of machining complex components, within highly regulated industries including Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, F1, Defence, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Petrochemical, Marine
  • Knowledge of offline programming experience using Fusion 360 would be preferable
