Job Overview

A CNC Manufacturing Machinist is required for a World Leading Engineering Company based in the UK. Job: CNC Machinist. Location: Bath. Salary: £43k-£44.5k.

Shift Pattern (37 hour week)

• Earlies: Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm (1.30pm Friday) 30‑minute unpaid break
• Lates: Mon to Thurs 2pm to 10pm (1:30 to 9pm Friday) 30‑minute unpaid break
• Nights: Sun 10.30pm to 6am (Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am) 30‑minute unpaid break

Responsibilities

• Set (tooling and fixtures) and run (proven program) designated CNC resources as defined in work instructions, within a defined manufacturing process.
• In liaison with Manufacturing Engineering, program‑prove tooling packages and prove new process activities.
• Carry out a minimum level of minor/basic editing of CNC programs.
• Submit a near net‑shaped and quality part for first‑off inspection and liaise with quality to close any gaps between the workpiece and design/stage drawing requirement.
• When applicable, work to defined Inspection Control Plans (ICP).
• Capture data required to improve process capability and control.
• Ensure work is moved on to the next work centre upon completion of the current operation.
• Support the business to meet defined KPIs.
• Actively support continuous improvement activities throughout the business.
• Train colleagues as and when necessary to develop a multi‑skilled workforce.
• Encourage a team culture within the machine shop manufacturing areas.
• Maintain systems and procedures to enable continuing compliance with AS9100 quality standard.

Qualifications & Requirements

• In‑depth knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in CNC machining (Milling and / or Turning and / or Mill‑Turn) of high precision products from a variety of materials and forms (solid, castings or forgings).
• Demonstrated experience in a high‑value, low‑volume mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Additional CNC skillset(s) (Manual Turning, EDM, Rotary and / Cylindrical Grinding, etc.) is a distinct advantage.
• A demonstrable background in delivering continual improvement ideas is an advantage.
• Computer literate.
