Shift Pattern (37 hour week)
- Earlies: Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm (1.30pm Friday) 30‑minute unpaid break
- Lates: Mon to Thurs 2pm to 10pm (1:30 to 9pm Friday) 30‑minute unpaid break
- Nights: Sun 10.30pm to 6am (Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am) 30‑minute unpaid break
Responsibilities
- Set (tooling and fixtures) and run (proven program) designated CNC resources as defined in work instructions, within a defined manufacturing process.
- In liaison with Manufacturing Engineering, program‑prove tooling packages and prove new process activities.
- Carry out a minimum level of minor/basic editing of CNC programs.
- Submit a near net‑shaped and quality part for first‑off inspection and liaise with quality to close any gaps between the workpiece and design/stage drawing requirement.
- When applicable, work to defined Inspection Control Plans (ICP).
- Capture data required to improve process capability and control.
- Ensure work is moved on to the next work centre upon completion of the current operation.
- Support the business to meet defined KPIs.
- Actively support continuous improvement activities throughout the business.
- Train colleagues as and when necessary to develop a multi‑skilled workforce.
- Encourage a team culture within the machine shop manufacturing areas.
- Maintain systems and procedures to enable continuing compliance with AS9100 quality standard.
Qualifications & Requirements
- In‑depth knowledge of Fanuc controls.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in CNC machining (Milling and / or Turning and / or Mill‑Turn) of high precision products from a variety of materials and forms (solid, castings or forgings).
- Demonstrated experience in a high‑value, low‑volume mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Additional CNC skillset(s) (Manual Turning, EDM, Rotary and / Cylindrical Grinding, etc.) is a distinct advantage.
- A demonstrable background in delivering continual improvement ideas is an advantage.
- Computer literate.
