CNC Machining Technician/Machinist

£37,000 - £39,000 OTE

Shift Pattern

• Rotating Days and Afters
• Monday-Thursday: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
• Friday: 06:00-11:30 / 11:30-17:00 (rotating weekly)

Overview

A leading UK manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Machining Technician to join its modern production facility in the Barnsley area. This is a permanent role offering excellent pay, structured progression, and generous benefits.

The CNC Machining Technician Role requires team players with experience, skills, and knowledge in CNC programmes and parameters. The role requires operating to high quality/workmanship standards within a world‑class manufacturing team and facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate CNC Machine centres to achieve the required quality and at the required output (twin horizontal twin pallet)
• Provide feedback and ideas for improving the process and identifying & reporting reasons for any delays
• Follow planned daily targets to ensure the correct mix of work is completed to maintain/ improve Kanban stock levels and ensure no delays occur
• Ensure no faults are passed forward to the next process and highlight any concerns

Experience

• Ideally apprentice trained with previous machining experience (minimum 3 years)
• Previous experience of CNC Programmes & Parameters
• PC literate with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience following standard operating procedure for setting up fixtures and jobs
• Awareness of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations
