Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a CNC Machining Trainee to join our machine shop. You will build and pre-set tooling, prepare and operate multi-axis CNC machines, and support finishing and packing of components for our racing cars.

You will work with Manufacturing Engineering and machinists to maintain workflow, keep records, and help deliver car upgrades efficiently, while upholding high quality and shop-floor safety.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machine tools in precision manufacturing.
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings.
• Attention to detail and packing skills.
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel for records.

Responsibilities

• Manage and restock the tooling vending system, building and pre-setting spindle tooling assemblies.
• Prepare and operate multi-axis CNC machine tools, including changing and setting jigs, fixtures and spindle tooling.
• Prepare job packs and raw materials, working with the metal stores and machining team to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate inspection and tooling records, complete planned machine maintenance activities and support high workplace standards.
• Carry out hand finishing, careful handling and packing of metallic and additively manufactured components, while contributing positively to shop-floor safety.
