Beagle Aircraft is seeking a CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day performance of the Machine Shop in Christchurch. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding an experienced machining team, setting production priorities and improving safety, quality and efficiency.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will manage daily operations, scheduling and capacity to ensure OTIF delivery, while driving continuous improvement and Lean practices in a aerospace manufacturing

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on CNC machining background with leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience driving Lean manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen improvements.
• Aerospace experience is advantageous; knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 is a plus.
• ERP/MRP familiarity and practical engineering problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Machine Shop team with clear daily priorities.
• Manage production schedules, workload and capacity for OTIF delivery.
• Oversee CNC operations on 3, 4 and 5-axis equipment.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve issues.
• Drive productivity, Right First Time, efficiency and equipment use.
• Support tooling, maintenance, TPM and department requirements.
• Champion 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement across the shop.
• Maintain high Health & Safety, quality, traceability and discipline.

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist, Programmer or Machine Shop Team Leader ready to take ownership of a precision machining department?

Beagle Aircraft is looking for a CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day performance of our Machine Shop in Christchurch.

This is a visible, hands-on leadership position where you ll guide an experienced machining team, set production priorities and help improve safety, quality, delivery and machining efficiency.

You ll be joining an established aerospace manufacturer producing precision-engineered components and assemblies for leading aerospace programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong hands-on CNC machining background who has progressed into leadership or is ready to take the next step.

You'll ideally have:

• A time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering background.
• Strong CNC machining experience within precision engineering or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining, including milling and/or turning.
• Experience leading, supervising or coordinating people within a manufacturing environment.
• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong manufacturing problem-solving and continuous improvement capability.
• A practical understanding of 5S, Kaizen or other Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Previous aerospace manufacturing experience, knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001, HNC/HND qualifications and ERP/MRP experience would be advantageous.
