CNC Machine Operator - 4-day working week (Mon-Thu)

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join a precision engineering team in Manchester.

The Company

A reputable aerospace organisation known for excellence in precision engineering and manufacturing. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality components to various aerospace clients, maintaining a strong commitment to quality and innovation.

The Role

As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for machining detailed, high-tolerance components. This includes setting up and operating CNC 3 & 5 Axis machining centres, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC 3 & 5 Axis machining centres with precision.
  • Utilise appropriate measuring equipment for accurate component production.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions effectively.
  • Maintain material integrity, work in progress, and equipment.
  • Accurately record material usage against work orders.
  • Conduct post-production tasks, including returning tools and materials.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 and AS9100 manufacturing standards.
The Individual

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Proficient in setting and operating Mazak VariAxis i500 and/or Mazak VTC800 5 Axis machining centres.
  • Solid understanding of CNC Machine controls (Mazak Matrix2, Mazak Smooth X, Siemens D840).
  • Familiarity with material properties (Steels, Aluminium, and Alloys).
  • Experience with Autodesk/Delcam Power Mill programming is a plus.
