Job summary

CIRCOR International in Uxbridge, UK, is seeking a CNC Lathe Setter Operator to set up and run turning centres and contribute to high-precision manufacturing.

You will load programs, read drawings, measure parts, and maintain tooling and machine condition in a 4‑day week environment with emphasis on safety and quality. Experience with Fanuc controls and an engineering apprenticeship is preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant experience operating and setting CNC turning centres and CNC lathes.
• Understanding of precision measurement and inspection techniques.
• CNC programming knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Turning Centres.
• Load CNC programmes, set tool offsets and datums, verify machine readiness.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and process docs.
• Install and maintain cutting tools and select tooling.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances with various materials.
• Perform precision measurement and inspection.
• Edit programmes and adjust tooling as required.
• Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain 5S and a clean, safe work environment.

For our location in Uxbridge, in the Greater London area, we are looking for a CNC Lathe Setter Operator.

Your Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Turning Centres
• Load CNC programmes, set tool offsets and datums, and verify machine readiness prior to production
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T requirements, and process documentation
• Select, install and maintain cutting tools
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances using a variety of materials
• Proficiency in precision measurement and inspection techniques
• Make programme edits, tooling adjustments and offset corrections as required
• Monitor machine performance, identify issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and maintain quality standards
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in line with 5S principles
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and company procedures

Your Qualifications

• Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification
• Significant experience operating and setting CNC turning centres and CNC lathes (Fanuc controls)
• Strong knowledge of precision measurement, inspection and machining adjustments
• CNC programming knowledge advantageous
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
