£34,678 - £44,065 per annum (Includes a 20% shift allowance)

Band 6 - 8 (DOE)

About the Job

The Company: Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

The Role

Setting & operating Studer cylindrical/universal grinding machines. Producing a wide & varied range of high tolerance parts which are used in the manufacture of Mazak CNC machines.

Understand Fanuc CNC controls & be able to program/edit/improve existing & new parts.

Work within a team of fellow engineers to strict health & safety guidelines & rules.

Play your part in promoting positive culture amongst staff by engaging in H&S improvements & kaizen initiatives.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Have a solid understanding of cylindrical & universal grinding.
• Have experience & can safely operate & set CNC controls.
• Have a can‑do attitude.
• Prior experience working within a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria

• Program from drawing Fanuc CNC controls.
• Have CNC grinding knowledge.
• Would have served a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.

Overtime is paid at Time 1/3 for the first 2 hours then Time 1/2 thereafter each day. Saturday is Time 1/2 and Sunday Double Time.

Hours

• AM Shift: 05:30 am – 01:30 pm Monday to Friday then onto the PM Shift.
• PM Shift: 02:00 pm – 10:30 pm Monday to Thursday; Friday is 02:00 pm – 08:00 pm.
