Job summary

Cosworth Group Holdings Limited seeks an experienced Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer to transfer Mitutoyo programs to Zeiss Calypso in the piston shop, writing and proving measurement programs, and performing hands-on inspection with Mahr gear. The role requires piston knowledge and readiness to train on Zeiss Calypso.

Qualifications

• Extensive Mitutoyo CMM programming experience (Mcosmos 3.4).
• Strong GD&T knowledge and engineering drawings.
• Experience with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems.
• Experience with MSA and Gauge R&R methodologies.
• Zeiss Calypso experience or willingness to train.
• Piston knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Mitutoyo CMM within the piston shop.
• Produce Dimensional First Article and ISIR reports.
• Aid in migration of programs from Mitutoyo to Zeiss.
• Support on-going and new projects (NPI).
• Assist production with measurement issues.
• Liaise between departments on new product introduction.
• Lead and support metrology investigations (non-conformances).
• Reporting capability and reducing measurement tasks.
• Suggest corrective actions to improve product accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor, train and advise the wider Metrology team.
• Consider health, safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support GDPR compliance by following company policy.

Job Description:

We are currently looking to transfer our existing portfolio of Mitutoyo programs within our piston shop over to Zeiss Calypso and need an experienced Mitutoyo CMM programmer/Metrologist to aid in this transition. Ideally someone with Piston knowledge and Zeiss experience or willing to undergo training. You will be working within a precision engineering environment, the Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer will also be responsible for writing, developing and proving out measurement programmes on all prismatic parts, cams and cranks, as well hands on inspection using various tools from Mahr surface finish and form tracing equipment to micrometres' and attribute gauge

The Role:

• Support the Mitutoyo CMM with the piston shop business.

• Produce Dimensional First Article and ISIR reports.

• Aid in the migration of programs from Mitutoyo to Zeiss.

• Support on going and new projects (NPI).

• Supporting production with any and all measurement issues.

• Liaising between departments on new product introduction.

• Leading and supporting metrology investigations (non-conformances).

Candidate Profile:

• Mitutoyo experience (Mcosmos 3.4).

• Understanding of pistons (advantageous).

• Experienced in GD&T and engineering drawings.

• Good understanding of surface texture and profile.

• Zeiss Calypso experience or willing to train.

• Experienced in base metrology (Measurement by First Principles).

• Understanding of AS9100 & ISO9001.

• MSA and Gauge R&R.
