Job description

We are seeking a skilled CMM Inspector to join our Quality Control team. This role is crucial in supporting our manufacturing processes by ensuring the quality and precision of both internally produced and supply chain products. You will be responsible for reviewing and improving CMM programs, conducting inspections, and supporting the Quality Team in maintaining our manufacturing standards.

Dayshift schedule

Monday to Thursday: 7:30/8:00 AM to 4:15/5:00 PM

Fridays: 7:30/8:00 AM to 11:30 AM or noon.

Occasionally, overtime and additional shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections using Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS systems.
  • Develop CMM programs from CAD models and verify them against engineering drawings.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections and CMM Program Prove Outs.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Team to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Support lean initiatives and cost reduction activities.
  • Calibrate inspection equipment.
  • Using hand tools such as micrometres, height gauges, shadow graph etc.
  • Provide technical support for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Perform Manual inspections using hand tools and vision systems.
  • Provide technical support and training for Operator Inspectors.
  • Non-conformance report writing.
  • Support drawing reviews.
  • Supplier visits.
  • Provide support for investigations with complicated solutions.
  • Provide cross-functional inspection support for other areas of the Quality department.
Skills and Experience
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Zeiss and PC-DMIS, OGP.
  • On/Offline CMM Programming with the use of CAD models.
  • CMM prove out and report verification and calibration.
  • Able to communicate with CMM OEM.
  • Able to train operators with CMM.
  • CMM break down and machine support.
  • First Article measurements for complex parts and assemblies.
  • First Article report generation (Q-Pulse).
  • Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and lead daily activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively at all levels.
  • Aerospace experience is a plus.
  • Analytical abilities to drive Root Cause and Corrective Action to tackle difficult technical challenges.
  • Six Sigma training (Green Belt) desirable.
  • Exposure to, and experience of using, PPAP and APQP processes would be an advantage.
Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
