Job summary

Delve Recruitment is working with a bespoke automotive engineering manufacturer in Berkshire to recruit a CMF Engineer specialising in Colour, Materials and Finish. The role involves translating design intent into manufacturable CMF solutions across interior, exterior and components.

You will coordinate materials, samples, finishes and suppliers, collaborating with Design, Engineering and Production to ensure the original design intent is maintained through to production in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• CMF, Colour & Materials, product design, materials, interiors or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of physical materials and how colour, texture and finish translate from concept into production
• Experience working with suppliers and cross‑functional Engineering, Design and Manufacturing teams
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and communication skills
• Comfortable working within a fast‑moving, low volume, high value manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Translate CMF strategy into specifications, palettes, sample sets, standards and production documentation
• Source, sample and validate colours, materials, finishes with specialist suppliers
• Collaborate with Design and Engineering to ensure solutions achieve the required aesthetic, functional and manufacturing requirements
• Review samples and first‑off components, resolving material, finish, quality and supplier consistency issues
• Support client specifications while maintaining accurate CMF documentation, approvals and material libraries
