Job summary

London Borough of Redbridge is recruiting for a CME Officer to deliver the local authority's statutory duties relating to Child Missing in Education. The role involves tracking and locating children of statutory school age believed to be missing, coordinating with schools and producing monitoring reports.

Successful candidates will have prior CME or education experience, be able to communicate confidently with different stakeholders, and be ready for background checks and training.

Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with Child Missing in Education (CME) or related education sector roles would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of statutory responsibilities and relevant legislation when working with children and families.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced criminal records checks and supervision/training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Track and locate children of statutory school age believed to be missing from education.
• Liaise with schools and act as a key contact for monitoring starters and leavers.
• Carry out background checks and prepare reports for local authorities.
• Demonstrate effective communication across all levels of seniority and coordinate across the borough.
