Job summary

Hosco seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead maintenance at Locke Canary Wharf and Cove Pinnacle Landmark. You will oversee guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure systems run reliably and safely, coordinating with external contractors as needed.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge of hotel maintenance, and a proven track record in facilities management and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Chief Engineer or senior maintenance role within a hotel or property environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of hotel maintenance systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Capacity to lead a team, work with contractors, and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance operations across two Canary Wharf properties.
• Ensure building systems are maintained and fully operational (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, lifts).
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
• Respond to maintenance issues and emergencies promptly.
• Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff.
• Manage maintenance budgets, stock control, and supplier orders.
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers.
• Ensure health & safety regulations and brand standards are met.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

CLUSTER CHIEF ENGINEER Locke Canary Wharf & Cove Pinnacle Landmark We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Chief Engineer to lead our two Canary Wharf propertie’s maintenance operations and help ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our guests. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of the both hotel’s facilities, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards. You’ll lead and support our maintenance teams while working closely with external contractors to keep everything running smoothly. We’re seeking a proactive leader with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for maintaining high standards.

THE WORK IN YOUR HANDS

• Manage day-to-day maintenance operations across the both hotel properties
• Ensure all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, lifts, and mechanical systems) are maintained and fully operational
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance schedules
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency repairs
• Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff
• Manage maintenance budgets, stock control, and ordering of supplies
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and hotel brand standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

THE FIRE YOU CARRY

• Strong technical knowledge of hotel maintenance systems

YOUR PROVEN TRACK

• Proven experience in a Chief Engineer or Senior Maintenance role, preferably within a hotel or property environment
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in building or facilities maintenance
• Relevant technical qualifications or trade background (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or similar)
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards
• Experience managing a team and working with contractors
