Job summary

Clearwater Analytics is seeking a Software Development Intern to join the Beacon Core Engineering team, helping design, build, test, and ship software on cloud-native platforms.

You will work with engineers to learn tools, processes, and best practices while contributing to the SDLC. This internship offers hands-on experience with AI agents, cloud environments, and modern development workflows.

Qualifications

• Coursework or project experience with an object-oriented language (e.g., Python, C++, Rust).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively on a team.
• Openness to feedback and willingness to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Learn the team's tools, coding standards, and development workflow (Git, ticketing, CI/CD) with mentor support.
• Collaborate across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release.
• Use AI agents to accelerate your own development work, and help advise clients and internal teams on using them safely.
• Implement well-scoped features and bug fixes, following established patterns and best practices.
• Build and maintain automated tests (unit and/or integration) and verify changes meet acceptance criteria.
• Participate in design and code review discussions; communicate tradeoffs around performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Document technical changes and operational notes to support maintainability and troubleshooting.
