Job summary

Prolific is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Platform team. You will help keep our cloud infrastructure scalable, reliable, and secure, enabling developers to deploy rapidly and safely.

You will work across GCP/GKE, Terraform, and GitOps tooling while maintaining production readiness and compliance with security standards. The role offers remote work options and a collaborative, mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering and optimising large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling and related configuration management (Helm, kustomize).
• Solid GitOps experience with ArgoCD and modern deployment patterns.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture (GCP, GKE).
• Strong Terraform skills for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
• Programming proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Ability to create developer-focused documentation and self-serve solutions.
• Customer empathy and ability to support internal teams (Prolificos).

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise Kubernetes clusters in GKE via Terraform.
• Support SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials compliance in cloud environments.
• Design golden paths and automation to empower self-serve while reducing complexity.
• Create and maintain scalable infrastructure enabling safe, fast deployments.
• Serve as technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes queries across teams.
• Be part of the rolling on-call rota.

The role

Our Cloud Platform team empowers developers to build and deploy their applications swiftly, securely, and seamlessly. As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you'll be deep in Prolific's technical foundation, ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and ready for growth. You'll implement automation strategies that reduce complexity, champion best practices, and serve as a trusted technical expert to teams across Prolific.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Extensive experience administering and optimising large-scale Kubernetes clusters
• Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling, such as Helm and kustomize
• Strong experience with GitOps tooling and methodologies, such as ArgoCD
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture
• Strong knowledge in GKE and Kubernetes, including maintenance and optimisation of production clusters
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions that enable teams to easily self-serve
• Strong customer empathy, with a focus on supporting the needs of internal teams (our Prolificos)

What you’ll be doing in the role

• Manage and optimise our Kubernetes clusters in GKE through Terraform
• Support our compliance with SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials standards in our cloud environments
• Design and implement golden paths and automation strategies that empower developers to self-serve while reducing operational complexity
• Create and maintain infrastructure solutions that allow development teams to build and deploy safely, easily, and efficiently
• Serve as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes-related queries, providing expertise to other Prolificos
• Be a part of our rolling on-call rota

Even better if you have

• We’re a multi-cloud team - experience with AWS and CDK is a big plus.
• Experience implementing/maintaining cloud compliance standards (SOC2, ISO-27001)
• Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog
• Background in implementing security best practices in cloud infrastructure
