Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Hybrid Network and Cloud Engineer to join a close-knit team in London. The role spans cloud, network, and endpoint management, with hands-on responsibilities across Azure, on-premises connectivity, and Palo Alto firewall estate.

You will implement IaC using Terraform and PowerShell and support end-user devices while maintaining high availability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor hybrid cloud and network infrastructure across Azure, on-premises, and internet connectivity; perform daily monitoring and issue resolution.
• Manage Palo Alto firewall estate, VPNs, inter-site connectivity, and routing/switching; handle updates and deployments.
• Assist with migration from SCCM to Intune for endpoint management across laptops/iPhones; manage deployment and compliance.
• Provide end-user and VIP support; troubleshoot across all infrastructure layers.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and PowerShell; maintain documentation.

Job description

We are looking for a Hybrid Network and Cloud Engineer to join a small, close-knit team of 6 on a hybrid in London. The role is responsible for maintaining a highly available hybrid cloud, network, and server connectivity infrastructure alongside a Palo Alto firewall estate - requiring a hands‑on, versatile engineer comfortable wearing multiple hats across network, cloud, systems administration, and end-user support in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor hybrid cloud and network infrastructure across Azure, on-premises, and internet connectivity, performing daily system and network monitoring and proactively identifying and resolving issues
• Manage and maintain the Palo Alto firewall estate, VPNs, inter‑site connectivity, and routing and switching infrastructure, managing switch and firewall software updates and deployments
• Support the migration from SCCM to Intune for endpoint management across laptops and iPhones, managing application deployment, patching, and device compliance using Microsoft Endpoint Manager
• Repair and recover from hardware and software failures across the full infrastructure stack, providing end‑user and VIP support including ad‑hoc troubleshooting across all areas of the environment
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and PowerShell to automate deployments and operational tasks, and produce and maintain accurate infrastructure documentation

• Strong Azure and Microsoft 365 support experience - Azure Private Endpoint experience is essential - with a solid understanding of hybrid cloud architecture and connectivity
